I have been searching for a shepherds pie recipe to make on St. Patricks Day. After almost giving up on it, because of bland recipes, I tried one more time. To my surprise, it was AWESOME!!! My family loved it too. Now I make it once a week and my family goes nuts. This has become a staple at our house. I use ground turkey breast to make it lighter and I use about 7 cloves of galic.

Really good, everybody liked it, easy. Did take a while to make, though.

So much flavor, I wouldn't change a thing.

I definitely liked this recipe and will try it again. It was very filling and tasted good, but it did need more something else. My husband and I feel that it needs some kind of herbs so we will experiment with some next time. I think I will also increase the tomato paste and garlic (we LOVE garlic next time. I don't care for Cheddar so I used mozzerella in the potatoes, maybe would add a little parmesan also next time. The recipe seemed to take me quite a long time (I have a broken ankle! and I would more than likely not make this on a weeknight - however it made 1.5 pans so I froze the half pan and THAT would be a good weeknight meal! I will most certainly make this again it just needs a little tweaking for my tastes.

I really enjoyed this recipe. I did however double the amount of tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. It needed that extra flavor. Instead of making my own mashed taters, I bought some premade good mashed taters from bob evans (in the meat section of your grocery store. I cut up some chives and added the cheese. It was very good...even my picky 13 year old liked it.

My husband - one of the pickiest eaters on the planet - raved about this recipe. It will become a regular on our dinner menu.

This is a wonderful recipe. Followed instructions to the tee. One of the only recipes where all leftovers were gone by the end of the week.

I thought it was good, but it needed something more for flavor. I used a little more tomato paste as I was making a large pan and a smaller pan of this, so Used a whole small can of tomatoe paste and increased the beef broth some. I think I will do a little more tweaking next time, but it definately is a keeper and the potatoes are yummy with the white cheddar in them.
