I have printed the recipe and am at the present wondering where the one item, that is usually in all recipes from the south and fried chicken: Where's the egg? All the times I have fried chicken I have used an egg and milk mixture.Totally lacking in this recipe. After reading the comments (a lot were negative, I have decided to "tweek" the way it's done a wee bit. I am going to use a mix of egg and milk 2 eggs and a wee bit of milk to cover the chicken before breading in a altered mixture of flour 3 cups, and 1/4 cup cornmeal.Am using chicken breasts, split.Used garlic salt and ground pepper. Will let ya know how it was later. :

A easy recipe but I do not know what is the problem with me that everytime that I fry the chicken skin came out burned. I monitored the oil temperature to be no higher than 350, so I do not kwon why this happen.

I don't know if it was the cornmeal or what - but the chicken was flat out unexciting and bland. DEFINITELY the opposite of 'spicy' - it wasn't even flavorful. Don't waste your time, money and energy!!

I followed this recipe to the T and also used a wrought iron skillet to fry. Flat out I did not like this recipe. I'd rather go to chicken places and i'll stick to makin the sides instead.

My son and I were really excited about this recipe. We bought all the ingredients, and followed the show as we cooked the chicken. I cooked the chicken as directed, but when we sat down to eat, the center of the chicken was red, and if I had cooked it anymore, it would have been too dark, probably burned on the outside. The taste of peppers in the chicken, was kind of gross, and the crust to the chicken was kind of grainy and hard. It looked good, thats about it. Im going to try the recipe on the cornmeal box.

I was very excited to try this recipe because it looked so good on TV. Using careful temperature measurements and following the recipe exactly, the chicken skin came out burned but the inside was bloody, undercooked.

The chicken had a nice crust, but the cornmeal ruined it. I use cornmeal for fish not chicken. I have watched a few of his episodes. He lacks personality. Food Network already has a "rescue chef", his name is Tyler Florence...Food 911.
