I took into account what other reviewers said and decreased the red pepper flakes, but even still my hubby said, "Woh! What'dya put in the pineapple?!" He LOVED it, though. I couldn't help but add in a bunch of veggies because I can't ever get enough of them. I added peas, okra, savoy cabbage, white onions, red onions and broccoli. Our boys can't stand salmon, but they ate it without complaint. Definitely a keeper of a recipe!

I added ground ginger to the marinate. it added more flavor. Also I baked the fish at a high heat to color the salmonwith a small amount of the marinade in the bottom. Reduce the pepper flakes unless you like your mouth on fire.

First, there is absolutely no reason to marinate the salmon. It has no effect whatsoever on the final product. Second, the fried rice is OK but not special. Sorry, just didn't work.

I was more than pleased on my first bite. My 12 year old loved it too.
I used Mirin in place of the Sake.
I also cooked the pineapple longer and used more butter and it was heaven. Next time I'm going to use the whole pineapple and make more rice, because it was too good not to have some leftovers.

The taste of the pineapple really helped the salmon. I would give this 10 stars if I could. Yummmmmmm......

The shrimp fried rice was excellent, but the marinade needed a bit more of a kick. Still decent, though!

I was looking for a fried rice recipe and found this one in a search. My husband loved it-said it was better than any restaurant. It was easy and I had the items on hand. Would definately make again. Maybe I would try this whole dish.

I have made this recipe twice and have loved it both times. I agree that a whole tablespoon of red pepper flakes is way too much. I used a teaspoon the second time and it was perfect. Definitely a great recipe for company!

I love heat, BUT one tablespoon of red pepper flakes for this dish is INSANE! I put in 1/2 tablespoon and it was very spicy, but we like it that way. If I ever make this dish for company I will keep the ratio to 1/2 teaspoon per recipe. Other than that, I think this is a great recipe, and will make again.

I'm not much on fishy-tasting fish so we usually eat Orange Roughy but it is so expensive I wanted to try something else. I knew there had to be a marinade out there that could make salmon taste good, and this is it! My husband loved it and so did I. He also loved the pineapple reduction but it was WAY too hot for me and I couldn't eat it, so when I make it again, I'll only use about a teaspoon of the red pepper. Also, to cut down on calories I didn't use oil in the wok but used a cooking spray instead and I didn't have sake so I used another white wine. The only thing I recommend is to prepare all your ingredients first .You'll want to scramble the egg and chop the onions and have them ready to toss in the wok or it's easy to overcook the shrimp. The fried rice is so fast to put together I also recommend grilling the salmon first and letting it rest while you prepare it. But this receipe was excellent. The salmon wasn't "fishy" and I'll definitely make it again!

This is excellent! The pinneapple reduction is very spicy, but the sweetness of the pinneapple balances the dish well. This is a great dish to serve if you really want to impress your guests!
