Loved it - my oven cooked it in 56 minutes and I only made two layers of apples not 3.

Horrible! If there are mistakes in this recipe, FoodTV needs to correct. Other reviews mention the greasiness, going back at least a year. Made the mistake of following the recipe w/out reading reviews first. VERY heavy and greasy. I believe there's a mistake with the quantity of oil (1 1/2 cups, with a stick of melted butter. Waste of time and ingredients.

I made this cake today for the first time following the recipe exactly. My wife does not like cake but LOVED this. I am looking forward to sharing this recipe and baking the cake again for guests.

I have baked for years and as I read the recipe, one of lthe isted ingredients did not seem logical to me. Reading the last ingredient, 1 tablespoon baking powder, seemed odd to me but I followed my daughter's rule that for the first time she makes a reciped she follows what is listed. Wrong recommendation. I am sure the amount of baking powder is to be 1 teaspoon and not a tablespoon.
Follow the 1 tablespoon of baking powder listed and you can follow the cake out of the pan as it is baking. It was a baking disaster but I am sure it truly is a delicious cake with the correctly measured ingredients! KT

How much oil should I use. I read that the amount of oil was written wrong on the recipe. How much should I use when I go to make this?
I forget what he used I really was not paying attention when he was making it on tv.

Maybe it could do with about a third of the oil it calls for (1 1/2 cups!?, it came out so greasy it was practically inedible. Next time I'm trying it was way less oil.

I made this for Rosh Hashana and everyone enjoyed it very much! I did make a few substitutions.

1 I used a vegan butter (by Earth Balance because I needed a non-dairy substitute

2 Instead of using any oil I used 1 cup of applesauce

    3 I cut the sugar to 1 2/3 cups

Simple, delicate, and a great replacement for the throwback yellow cake and cream cheese icing (can you say "yawn?". While at the grocery store I made the decision incorporate a few tart Granny Smith apples with the recommended Golden Delicious. It gave my apple mixture substance and really gave the cake a little extra punch. I love changing recipes to make them my own. This cake recipe could be warped into many variations. Gotta love a nice bundt cake!
