EASY PREPARATION!!! LEFT OUT THE SUGAR WITH THE APPLES, AND ONLY USED THE BROWN SUGAR IN THE CRUMB MIX...DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! NOT TOO SWEET. YOU CAN USE IT WITH ICE CREAM, LAYERED GREEK YOGURT BREAKFAST/DESSERT, OR JUST PLAIN BY ITSELF!

    WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have made this recipe dozens of times and everybody loves it! I've used a variety of apples and find that a mixture of granny smiths and golden delicious are the best. The crumble is slightly dry, so I drizzle each serving with a caramel ice cream topping before a scoop of the vanilla ice cream. I've also made this in a pie crust for a crumble topped apple pie. This is best eaten the day of because the crumble will soften from the juices of the apples the longer it sits.

Had better. My apples turned out mushy, crumble was dry, and everything lacked flavor.

I put in on the middle rack at 350, turned it once and in 45 min some of the top wasn't browned like the rest of it. I put in again for a few minutes and still not. Any thoughts? Other than that it tasted ok Thanks

I didn't have all the ingredients in my cupboard so I made a few substitutions and surprisingly it came out wonderful anyway! I didn't have lemon juice so I used apple cider, I didn't have flour so I used pancake mix, and I didn't have nuts so I used chopped dates and I added a splash of rum and brandy and added some candied fruit to the topping and it came out very good! Perfect for the holiday season!

I agree with the other reviewer that this is very dry. Too much tipping -- needs more apples. Love the nuts in it though.
