I decided to write down the recipe and made it for my 6 member family. Everyone loved it! The flavors were out of this world.

My favorite mashed potato recipe! At first I wasn't sure about mixing basil, chives, and mashed potatoes, but I ended up loving it. Even my mom asked for the recipe - usually it's the other way around, I'm always asking her, so it was a big compliment.

These potatoes were incredible! The herbs added a wonderful flavor and you really don't need the butter and cream if you want to cut down on the fat. Delicious variation on potatoes!

Deeeeeee-lish! Easy and very tasty twist on smashed potatoes. I'm fortunate to have an herb garden in Californa, so I used the recipe exactly as written. There were NO leftovers. A definite staple in my quick meals. Thanks, Dave!

Usually my husband has to have gravy w/ any mashed potatoes and he didn't add a thing to these potatoes - no salt or butter. Says a lot for this recipe! We loved them - my toddler couldn't get enough either - great taste, but not overpowering. I didn't have a masher, so I used a mixer and they still turned out great.

I barely got these out of the cooking pan and onto the serving plate without eating them all first! These were fantastic and easy!! THANK YOU!

After seeing Dave do this recipe on TV, I had to try it. I already had all of the ingredients at home (except I used milk rather than heavy cream and was pleased to use some of my fresh basil and chives from my herb garden. It was super easy, and I paired it with tender filet mignon and a spinach salad for a feel-good dinner for two. The potatoes were definitely a hit and I will be making them again soon. Amazing how the basil and chive really enhance the traditional mashed potatoes.
