    The soup was very good- although I cut back on the amount of cilantro. It seemed like 1 bunch was a lot so I did half a bunch and added a tad bit more lime. I used more chicken stock to make it a little more soupy, but just enough to make sure the beans were covered. Will definitely make it again and again and again...

    This is the BEST black bean soup I've tried yet. Forget ordering this type of soup from restaurants, now that I have the best recipe, I'll make it myself. We loved this! It's so hearty and filling. This will be a recipe that I use at least monthly. Talk about comfort food; this is it! All of the reviews previously listed hit the nail on the head. Thanks, Food Network, for a fabulous recipe! I added a touch of sour cream with the green onion to mine. Awesome!

    This is a very time consuming soup. But I definitley felt that it was worth it in the end. It has a little bit of a mexican taste to it because of the chilli powder and the black beans. However you dont have to like mexican food to like this dish. My mom loved it and she doesnt exactly love mexican. I would give this a try if you're looking for a new soup to try!!!!

    I cook alot (personal and professionally and will, many times, alter a recipe based on my experience - well, I'd never made a dish like this so I didn't change a thing - good move on my part. This is an absolutley awesome main dish!! I use quite a few FoodTV recipes and have never felt complelled to rate them - until now. WOW Dave!

    This black bean soup is wonderful. I took advice of others and added a bottle of dark beer but otherwise followed the recipe as written. The only thing I'm going to try differently the next time is to brown the bacon more just because my husband and I like a crispier bacon. Thanks for the recipe.

    This is a great dish and the ingredients are easily found. It serves up quickly and tastes even better the next day! I cut back a bit on the fresh cilantro as it seemed to take over the other flavors. Enjoy!

    I expected this recipe to be more like a soup, and it turned out to be a stew. I liked the spicy taste; however, my husband was not that impressed. It didn't make as much as I thought it wouled. Not sure I will make it again.

    This soup is wonderful! I loved the hint of lime. I like my soup creamy, so I put 2/3 of it in the food processer. I was confused on the cooking time, as it did not take me 1 1/2 to make. Even in his instructions, it does not say to simmer that long. From top to bottom it is a great meal, and a super leftover.
