This recipe is a breeze to put together. I needed a recipe to use up my children's extra Halloween candy. I followed the recipe almost to the letter except I put a mix of candy bars in mine. Kit Kat, Snickers, Twix & Hershey Bars. I cut them into small chunks & folded them into the final batter. They did not sink to the bottom - I think that is because the batter is a very thick batter and the candy bar chunks were very small and lightweight. I was worried about my brownies sticking because many reviewers mentioned that problem. I lined my 13x9 inch pan with heavy duty foil and sprayed it WELL with Pam. My brownies did not stick at all. I made a double recipe and spread the batter between my two 13x9 inch pans. The brownies actually come out to be quite thin - as in, not very tall - maybe I could have put the whole double recipe into one 13x9 inch pan? After I removed them from the oven, I made a nice chocolate icing and spread it on top. They look perfect and delicious. The edges have a nice crunch to them and the middle of the pan is very fudgy. I will definitely make this recipe again. I can imagine all of the other add ins that are possible - chocolate chips, toffee chips, oreo cookie bits, walnuts, etc.

I have made these brownies several times, and they are always awesome. Great for wowing large groups. I made the adjustments suggested by other reviewers--reducing both the flour and the sugar and greasing the pans very well.

I was so focused on getting "Dutch Process" cocoa that I didn't notice I got Hershey's Special Dark. The brownies turned out almost black! They are very unusual looking, but so yummy! I also don't like mix-ins in Brownies, so I left out the Snickers.

These brownies were so tasty. We did use a butter flavored grease to help them out of the pan, but they came out beautifully and were so yummy!

This is my all time favorite recipe for brownies. I usually omit the Snickers (I know, what's the point then? But they are SO good even without them. They are so easy to make there's no need to ever buy a boxed mix again. I have been using this recipe for a while now and always get compliments when I make them. Thanks Dave!
