I made this pie as a desert for a bar BQ.
everyone raved about it as the best banana cream pie they ever had.
The only problem I had was with the cookie crust. it slid down the side of the pie plate. that only made the bottom crust thicker and beter. This is definetely a keeper. Thank you Dave

I liked it. oreo cookie crust is a bit of a pain to make, but I was proud of the product.

i altered this recipe a bit and it still turned out great! first, i bought an oreo cookie ready-made crust and then got some of those oreo thins for the topping (it was tough finding "plain" chocolate cookies. second, for the custard i used lowfat milk.

I used the chewy cookies I had lying around and after the crust came out of the oven the whole thing slid down to the bottom of the pan. To save it I mixed in some dried graham crackers but it just wasn't the same. The banana custard is delicious though.

I can only give this one a 4 because the crust was not so good and didn't stay together very well at all. It just crumbled when I tried to serve it. The filling was delicious, but the crust is the draw back for me on this one.

After watching this episode, went out and got ingredients to make this pie the same day. It was sooo good! The custard is delicious, if you can stop eating it warm to save some for the pie! The chocolate was a wonderful addition. Everyone loved it. Into the recipe box!

I thought this recipe was delicious and easy to make. I did have a problem with my crust, though. I had patted it up the sides of the pie dish, but when it came out of the oven, it slid back down to the bottom. The butter was pooled up in the middle. When I took it out of the fridge to eat, the crust was hardened to the dish and wouldn't come out. Hmm.....

This was very very good. It was just as good, if not better, the next day - crust was still crispy and the flavours were even better!
