Easy to make, but kinda sticky to roll out. Also, it doesn't mention adding the vanilla, but that goes in with the butter, sugar & eggs. They taste great!
I would make them again!!

I loved these cookies... but I must warn you... you should DEFINITELY make them long/milano shaped and definitely "dip" the cookies more than just the tip into the chocolate.. otherwise the chocolate part is the best part and the hazelnut remainder gets a little boring. Sad but true!

I baked this shortbread into smaller cookies and instead of dipping into chocolate, I sandwiched Nutella between them.
I had been looking for a way to use up a leftover jar of Nutella I had in my pantry and I thought this recipe presented a good opportunity to do that.
They tasted incredible!

my husband and i both loved these cookies! i found i had to add a little more flour/sugar to get a consistency that allowed me to shape them. i also made them with pecans instead of almonds-delicious! my husband liked them better without the chocolate (very rare indeed!

The cookies taste great with the nut-chocolate combination. The dough however, was extremely sticky and hard to work with-- possibly because my butter was too warm. Next time I'll refrigerate the dough, roll and cut them out, considering that the dough really doesn't spread much during baking. I'll also consider using milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet. 1/3 c. of white sugar really isn't a lot, even though i'd say the cookies are very good as they are already.

It was a breeze to make these cookies, and they are delicious.
I left out the salt, put in chocolate chips as a substitute for the hazelnuts (I was snowed in today, as was most everyone in the mortheast, and the cookies were great. I gave some to snowed-in neighbors, and they were delighted.
Thanks Dave!

This recipe went over very well! If you make the 'finger' sized cookies, you can get about 2 doz. Don't forget to add the vanilla in just before the hazelnuts!

I love shortbread AND chocolate. I had some milk chocolate in my temper machine so that is what I used. They were a hit. Thanks!
