BEST RECIPE I'VE TRIED SO FAR! I highly recommend seasoning both sides of the fish liberally, and adding a touch of seasoning to the potatoes as well to your liking once removed from the oven. Also, around five minutes into cooking my fish, I decided to read reviews and saw the warnings of raw potatoes and increased my cook temp to 415 degrees for the last fifteen minutes. I used brown paper bags and the only critique I would have is be careful with the oil. Soak the bags; don't drown them. The ginger and lemon were a match made in Heaven in my mouth! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! For those who plan on taking for lunch the next day, nix the bag and just put the food into your 'to-go' container. Better to avoid the big greasy mess :

This was very tasty but could have used twice the ginger and lemon zest. I did read the reviews on undercooked potatoes and changed a couple of things. I put the potatoes in the microwave for about 3 minutes after cutting them up but well before assembling the ingredients (so they could cool first. I checked the fish after 20 minutes, and the center was raw. I ended up cooking the bags for 40 minutes total, and everything was nicely cooked. I will make the dish again... the whole family enjoyed it.

This is a delicious recipe. It is simple, and so easy to clean up afterwards. My pickiest child actually asked for seconds

If you don't have brown paper bags, I could recommend parchment paper packets sprayed with cooking spray--even wax paper works in a pinch.

followed the recipe online and the result was dull fish, uncooked potatoes, and a mess. Others have posted that they change the recipe, so maybe this improves the results. But as is, would never make it again. I always love what David makes this is a first.

I watched Dave's show dedicated to his mom. I was impressed by the presentation so I tried it with my kids. They loved it and always ask when am I making the 'fish in a bag'. Don't forget the scallions. All the ingredients blended deliciously. Thanks Dave. Bobatoon, Va

This is a great recipe! It is inexpensive, easy to make, easy to clean up, and tastes great (all of my favorite things when cooking. I especially like how the fish steams the vegetables as it cooks. This is a recipe that my husband and I have made many times and recommend to others.

Nowadays, most brown paper bags are made from recycled materials and are not considered sanitary.

If you can find virgin paper bags, go with those but if not, it would be safer to use parchment.
