Used cream cheese like he does in the video. Absolutely delicious. You can't make enough.

Like another reviewer, I was confused because he uses cream cheese instead of butter in the video. So, I substituted 1 8oz package of cream cheese for the butter (using butter did not seem appealing to me. I then doubled the recipe, cut the bread into triangles and put one thicker cumcumber slice on each piece. It made about a million little sandwiches! I had several people comment on how much they enjoyed them. Great color with the red horseradish and the green cucumbers on the white bread. An inexpensive and impressive dish to bring to a party. By the way, I found the red (beet horseradish in the refrigerated section of the store.

These were great! It was important to make sure the butter was softened and the cucumbers wer cut thin and dried out. This helped hold the sandwich together. Everyone ate them all up before it was my turn for lunch break at work!

I just finished with this recipe. It is VERY easy to do and is quite tasty. Not messy or difficult. Easy enough to tweak as well. Play with it and make your own variations. I would also say to test a small amount of the butter before making them to be sure there is enough "kick" to suit your taste.

They were relatively easy to make but they were very messy to eat because the cucumber slices slipped around on the butter filling causing the sandwiches to fall apart in your hand and even on the dish. I used toothpicks to hold them together. They also didn't have much of a "kick" as suggested by the title. I will not make them again. Not many were eaten at either of the two parties where I took them.

Great little sandwiches! I added extra dill and served these at a wedding shower. Everyone enjoyed them and I had tons of recipe requests.

I have to admit I used this recipe as a base of flavors and used some completely different ingredients. I used 8 oz of cream cheese, doubled the onions, and added 4 cloves minced garlic & 1/2 cup shredded mozzerella. I served this as a meal on toast with criso bacon. My hubby LOVED it and he is not a fan of sandwiches as he eats a lot of them in his packed lunches. Thanks for the base idea - it worked wonderfully!

i did tweek this a bit b/c i was taking it to a large crowd, and had read the amounts wrong.... i used 4 T butter softened, 2 heaping T sour cream and 4 oz. softened cream cheese along with the salt, dill, and horseradish it called for... made it on somewhat stale bread---not fresh, couple days old... people loved it and could not figure out the spice....

This new twist to an old classic is great. The sandwiches were fresh and tangy.

Wow. That's all I can say. I made this over the summer for a romantic picnic at our beach with my husband, and we loved them so much that I stopped people as they walked by to try one! Everyone enjoyed them as well!

Out of all the things I made that day, these were by far the best and we ate the entire recipe's worth! They are so light and refreshing, yet have a bold and powerful zing to them, but are not at all too spicy.

If you want to try something easy but looks and tastes like you worked on it all day, give them a whril!
