This dressing is light and refreshing with a little zip from the white vinegar. I make this dressing often because it's so easy. I just served it tonight over a tossed salad. Instead of the chives, I added dill today. I thought it was better than the chives, so I'll add it again. If you have the ingredients on hand, try it. You might have to adjust the vinegar a little, as I did, to add a little more tang. I love almost every one of Dave's recipes that I've tried. So sorry he's gone fron FN.

This is a quick and easy salad that also tastes very good. Although iceberg is not the healthiest of lettuces, the crispness of it makes it a pleasure to eat occasionally. I did add some sliced tomatoes to the side of the lettuce and drizzled the dressing over. I also used green onion tops instead of chives since that's what I had on hand. My whole family rated the salad highly.

I would never have attempted to make salad dressing before- but this was easy! Everyone enjoyed the rich, creamy consistency. I used dried chives and garlic from a jar as I did not have fresh in the house- put it was delicious all the same! I will be using this again. Also used this as a dressing for the accompanying chicken recipe.

made this with the basil potatoes from the same show and now everyone want this ranch dressing all the time. I sometimes substitute different herbs when I don't have chives and it is still delicious (especially the next day. I try to keep it on hand and we have now gone back to iceberg lettuce as our favorite. I also think I'll try it on a baby spinach salad next.

I followed the recipe exactly, except I added a splash of milk because I like it thinner. It was perfect.

I know that dark leafy lettuce is the healthy way to go, but I still love iceberg lettuce from my childhood days. This recipe allows me to enjoy iceberg lettuce in a very grown-up dish. The dressing is fast, simple, and delicious.
