Great recipe, love the sesame flavor!! I would have given the recipe 5 stars but the recipe is toooooo salty. If you are using canned chickpeas use 1/2 tsp of salt instead of the 1 1/2 tsp. You can always add more after mixing it all up. Remember, canned chickpeas already has salt added.

Loved it. Used the juice of a whole lemon and kosher salt. It came out perfect.

I love hummus. The first time I made it, there was a little too much garlic for my taste, and I prefer more lemon... so the second time I made it, I only used one clove of garlic and substituted the 1/4 cup of water for the other half of the lemon. The garlic-lemon balance is perfect, and this way it is less runny too. Hope this is helpful!

I have used this website as a source of recipes for my family for years, yet this is the first time I have signed up as a member, just so that I can "review" this recipe. I am a fan of hummus and have made many recipes before....but this one is horrible! I should have used my own judgement and realied 1 1/2 tsp of salt is way too much for only 2 cans of beans....but I followed the recipe. Holy salt!!! Any good flavor combo in this recipe is overtaken by salt. I may try it again but add only 1/4 - 1/2 tsp of salt. I am surprised no one has commented on the excessive salt before???

This is the absoulute best tahini free hummus ever. I never would try hummus without tahina but not anymore. The only change I made was I substituted parsley for finely chopped scallions. Just stir in after you have mixed everything else and top with a few scallions also along with the paprika. YUMMY!

I have been making my own hummus for about 10 years, and when I discovered this recipe I knew I'd struck gold. My husband said it was the best batch of hummus we'd ever had. Fabulous.

I make a similar hummus, with a few changes. I add in the Thai chilli garlic paste 1/2 to 1 tsp., adds a nice spice, I've done it with parsley but I prefer basil. People love my homemade hummus....

I never made Hummus before but had to whip up a quick dish. Everyone who ate it asked for the recipe.....I followed it pretty much, though I added 1/4 cup roasted red peppers and left out the parsley. Sprinkled some papricka on top instead. It was awesome!!

For me hummus is the one thing that tastes better from the shops than made at home. And I know it's because I'm not doing right. I think its the additives the shops add.

My family loved this! I'm not a huge hummus fan but all the rest of them are. They said it was the best they'd ever had. Super simple to make too. Definitely use the sesame oil, the feedback from family was this made a very nice difference. Made this recipe exactly as written.
