I substituted unsweetened applesauce, for the olive oil, to cut down on the calories. Nobody new the difference, and it saved a lot of calories per serving. It was awesome!

This recipe is so easy to make and inexpensive too. I love it. I normally add the juice of a whole lemon because I hate to have half a lemon hanging around and I decrease the garlic a little because my 2 year old eats this a lot, She loves it too, So much better than store bought.

Tasteless you are clueless. I added roasted tomatoes in olive oil. I cut the oil back by 1/4 cup. added chipotle powder and extra lemon juice. perfect. Mwah!

I threw a little chili oil in as well to give it more of a kick and it was excellent! I love that you don't need to add tahini to it. So easy, I plan on making this recipe frequently!

I tried this recipe on my ladies group, they cleaned the bowl, not a drop left. I increased the sesame oil to 1 tsp., just because I love this ingredient, I also added about 1/4 cup of capers and then garnished with them.

Okay, so this probably shouldn't be called hummus- maybe chickpea dip or something, however it was so good I will forgive him. I don't keep tahini on hand but always have sesame oil, so this was really nice to get the gist of hummus without having to buy something I would rarely use.

This is also good using roasted garlic- but I use double the amount when using roasted. I'm looking forward to trying other variations like adding sun-dried tomatoes, chili, horseradish etc.

I made this for Christmas and it was a huge hit. Everyone wanted the recipe! I love the sesame oil instead of Tahini, now I don't have to buy a big jar only to use one tablespoon. I added roasted garlic and some feta cheese on the top, yum!

This is a slightly different spin without tahini, but it is great. I actually didn't have the sesame oil, but I added some hot chili garlic sauce. It came out delicious, not lacking a thing.
