This does not taste like anything I have tasted at an Indian restaurant. I added some Garam Marsala to try to salvage it.

I like the combination but I will, on my next time around, change the amounts on most of the spices. I would definitely cut back on the amount of cloves. This recipe is worth experimenting with until you get the amount of each of the spices that works for you.

Okay, the reviews alarmed me, but with a few changes, this recipe is delicious.
I used 1 tablespoon curry, 1 tablespoon garam masala, a rounded 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne, and I nixed the rest of the spices.
I used about 2 cups whole milk yogurt, but no half and half.
I added 2 large tomatoes (pretty!, seeded and chopped. I finished it with a bunch of chopped cilantro and served it over brown rice. So good.

I found there was too much ground cloves & cinnamen, it left a terrible after taste. I will try again and adjust the spices, I like the idea of using garamasala. I think this would be fantastic with the right spices!

It looked good on t.v. and i enjo Indian food. However tis was a waste of money. The after taste was odd and it was just wet, not added flavor from the yogart or 1/2, i think it would have been better if everything but the yogart and 1/2 was not added. Sorry!! I tryed

This has potential but needs some revisions. I halved the recipe and cooked the lentils only 45 minutes and they were really mushy. Also could use a little more spice. But, I think its worth trying again.

His recipes usually look good today and are very easy, but every recipe that I've tried of his has turned out awful. This one was no different. It didn't taste anything like Indian food.
