loved this soup, my whole family enjoyed it a ton. added three times as much spinach and omitted the olive oil at the end. spiced so nicely, simple to prepare, healthy and filling. cannot wait to make it again.

Delicious! Such a unique soup and a great hearty flavorful meal with no meat! I followed the recipe pretty closely, though I went a little less on the cinnamon and much more on the cumin and cayenne to spice it up. I also added an entire bunch of regular spinach. I served it over pearl couscous but ate leftovers without it bc it doesn't need anything to bulk it up. Fantastic winter soup!

Delicious! One of the most filling and satisfying soups I've ever had. Great for any season and a mixed crowd of people with various dietary needs. It also serves as a good lunch for people on a diet-very healthy! I'm vegan and I love it :

I have re-seasoned this soup three times already. Cut cinnamon in half and double cumin. I would never make again. What a waste of chickpeas!

Love this recipe. First time, made exactly as is. Second time, I used homemade tomato juice in place of the broth. Both times served over couscous. Both times delicious!

Super yummy soup! I was nervous b/c I was cooking for two teenagers, two little kids and my husband. They all loved it! My husband said we should eat this every night. I added a couple extra vegetables, diced red bell pepper, 1/2 of a cubed winter squash and a diced carrot. I also, used my pressure cooker and used dried chickpeas that were only soaked 4 hours. It took 30 minutes to cook and it was delicious!

This was DELICIOUS!!! I added an entire, cut-up chicken breast right after adding the spices to the onion. I thickened the broth with a flour slurry to make it a bit thicker, like a stew! I can't wait to eat the leftovers!! I'm sure they'll be even better!!

Really a wonderful soup as long as you don't tell anyone what is in it.
