We have a very picky family of 5 and to my surprise this was a hit with everyone. It only took about 45 min to get it from the stove to the table and it was so easy to make that my 11 year old did most of the work! This recipe is a definite keeper. The only thing we did different was to add four, 6.5 oz canned clams since we could not find the bigger cans in our area.

This soup was excellent. The broth was nice and thick, just like a chowder should be. I added a lot of potatoes and couldn't find 10 oz. cans of clams, so I bought three 6.5 oz. cans, which was not enough. Next time I am going to add less potatoes and more clams and clam juice. The celery should be in bigger chunks and maybe some carrots would be nice. The croutons on top were awesome!

I love Clam Chowder and we tried making it from scratch last year with no success. My wife and I decided to try again with this recipe and it is fantastic! A real winner here.

I made this on a snowy day and it was perfect. Very delicious and simple - especially if you don't feel like dealing with the hassel of fresh clams. I've spent a lot of time in Cape Cod and this soup easily compares to anything I've had up there. Next time I'm going to try using whole milk for a lighter version.

After reading the reviews for this recipe I had to try it. I substituted clam juice for the stock and used fresh pismo clams instead of canned. I also used Yukon Gold potatoes. The result?... THE best chowder I've ever had! And the croutons were disappearing before the chowder was done. Suffice to say it was well received by my family and me. RECOMMEND!

This was the first recipe I have tried to make this soup. It was a hit with the family, and having going to college in Boston, I thought this was a pretty good substitute for clam chowder. I added bacon in my recipe and also used fresh clams, it worked pretty well.
