This is a delicious meal that's quick and easy. It should not be listed as MEDIUM difficulty. Try this stew; you'll love it too.

This was very easy to make, and lots of fun. It made an absolute TON. We had leftovers which definitely tasted almost better than when it was first made. It wasn't a very thick stew.

I made this last night and the flavor is delicious! I read all the reviews before, so I put in a lot more flour to make this thicker- but it still was like a soup (which is why it didn't get 5 stars. Then, I put a cornstarch and water mixture in and it still didn't work. Today, I ate leftovers for lunch and it was finally the right constistency after sitting in the fridge since last night. I would make it again.

I never made stew before and tried this recipe. It is easy and comes out delicious. The fresh herbs and wine make the difference. Great comfort food!

The basic ingredents in this stew are great however, I found that this was way too much fresh rosemary and found myself picking it out shortly after adding it, as it started to take over the stew. I think a 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp. depending on your preference is more in order. Also found that it was a bit too acidic because of the wine quantity (and a little bitter - may have been the OD of rosemary though.

I really enjoyed the stew. I considered several stew recipes on this site before deciding on Dave's. I'm so glad I tried it, it has a wonderful flavorful sauce where many stews go wrong with just salt, pepper, and bay leaf. I used a simple red table wine that a friend makes himself and it was perfect. Also I used the frozen french beans from Trader Joe's which are so dainty and elegant they are a nice contrast to the chunky rustic dish and they are just about the only green beans I can get my family to eat without hiding them in almonds and feta cheese.

I followed the recipe almost exactly, but increased flour. I used 2T of flour to brown the meet and 2T of flour in the recipe as called for. I used chicken broth. Mine did not turn out sweet, but you could taste the wine and it was so rich. The crushed tomatoes were the ones with the roasted garlic. Cooked it for 2.5 hours total.

This stew took hours to make, but the end result was a beautiful dinner, comforting for winter, and elegant on the table. Next time I make this, I'll try adding less wine and more crushed tomatoes, as the stew was a little sweet from the wine.
