This is always a hit at all my dinner parties and even at home to spice up a dinner. Sometimes I trade bacon for pancetta, and both are fabulous! Also to panther1coach_1824082, I've cooked then reheated, but it's slightly better if you have a toaster oven to warm them up on the lowest toast setting, and only til they are warm, not til it beeps.

I have made this before and we really love it but has anyone cooked them ahead and then just heated them up? 20 minutes in the oven in the middle of a party is a long time.

Every time I've made this as an appetizer they were a hit. Every one who said they don't like dates (because they never actually ate one changed their minds. But then again you can wrap anything in bacon and make it taste amazing.

I tried these for an appetizer for my Thanksgiving feast and everyone,...even my father-in-law who doesnt like bacon ( who doesnt like bacon?loved these and they disappeared quickly...What a combo of flavor from the saltiness of the bacon to the sweetness of the date then the creamy-ness of the cheese,,umm Yummo! I went with all ready pitted dates to save on time and that was the only thing I changed... These will now be a staple at any dinner party or holiday where appetizers are for sure!

These are always a hit! When I am short on time, I skip the ricotta and just wrap the dates and they are still a crowd pleaser!

My guests were still drooling over these the next day and everybody wanted the recipe. I thought they were super easy to make. I'm not sue why they received an intermediate prep rating. I planned 2 per guest and that wasn't nearly enough!

These have been a family favorite for years. Delicious! And that vene though i do not like Bacon, dates or ricotta, but the combination is to die for! If you are not watching calories you can also put them in a pan with a little bit of oil. Yummy!
