I've only made the Chinese 5 Spice version. But my husband and dad really love it! Very juicy, even made it once with red grapefruit inside, cause that's all I had. Well actually, I didn't have that either (stole it off my neighbor's tree!

    Dave,
My whole family loves this chicken! I do the spicier version, with the garlic and orange on the inside, and the chinese 5 spice/orange on the outside. Haven't tried the other version.
I love your show and love your recipes, Love the Old world veg soup!!

I made the Chinese five-spice chicken last night and my husband and I were so impressed. First, it was so easy to prepare(I loved thatand second, it was so moist and flavorful!!! I had leftovers for lunch today and it tasted just as good and was just as moist heated up the next day. Thank you Dave for an incredible new chicken dish, which I will be making again and again. Also want to try the chicken with sage and lemon.
