I made stuffing from scratch for the first time using this recipe. It was pretty easy to make, and tasted very good. It smelled and looked great as well. I made it vegetarian by using vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. Like others, I used less broth so it would retain a little crunch.

I doubled this to serve 12 on TDay. I bought 2 sourdough loaves from Whole Foods, and used about 1.5 of them. I followed the recipe exactly as written. I served a very good dinner, probably the best I have done, and the stuffing received the most compliments. We ate nearly all of it, and my family members that took home leftovers claimed the rest. Most of my favorite recipes are simple and feature good ingredients, and this stuffing meets that standard. It's somewhat rustic with great flavor, and also very filling (lots of butter. One tip - before baking there seems to be too much liquid, but it was absorbed during baking. Don't omit it when you transfer to your casserole dish. A+ stuffing.

This recipe is so easy and tastes amazing. I had never made stuffing from scratch until this year. Wow. I will never go back! Using fresh herbs makes all the difference. I also added about 2 cups of craisins. This got rave reviews from my family.

This recipe is so good that I couldn't just keep mum about it, so I created an account on the foodnetwork website for the sole purpose of entering this review.
I used this stuffing recipe in 2008 when I first hosted Thanksgiving. It was the very first time I had ever cooked stuffing, but the dish was such an incredible hit, that I wouldn't dare try another recipe ever again. This year, my husband and I became parents for the first time, of a beautiful girl who, though we love to death, I must admit, won't allow me the luxury of an entire day spent in the kitchen preparing 9 Thanksgiving dishes. So, this year, I decided to forego with the huge feast and just stick to the basics. My husband's one sincere request? "We can get everything else from the stores, but PLEASE cook the stuffing." So, this will be the 5th consecutive year for this Sourdough Bread Stuffing in our household and we just can't wait.

Made this a couple of years ago and couldn't remember at first where I'd found this recipe. I looked at other versions of traditional thanksgiving stuffing and just knew they wouldn't measure up to this one! Glad I found it again :

This will be on my Thanksgiving menu for the third year in a row. I've actually had guests ask if I'll be making the same stuffing. It's so easy & delicious!

Delicious, moist, earthy, crunchy and so very easy. Great go to recipe for a lighter stuffing.
