Wonderful dish! My freinds and scouts love it. You dont need a grill. Just use a 12 inch iron skillet. Browns those potatoes perfectly, although I would love to have a flattop.

This is a great recipe! I'm sure it would be even better if eaten at the restaurant...on their grill, but this is awesome made in your house also!

Wow George, why so bitter? Lighten up dude...take a chance, and YOU make the decision of what type of chorizo to use. I'm sure any type would be fab!

I had NO TROUBLE figuring out what "style" of chorizo to use thankfully! I actually made this on our family camping trip over a fire! I just omitted the oil and used some of the grease from frying the chorizo to cook the rest of the veggies and eggs (gave it a great color too! I topped it with sour cream! It was the best campfire breakfast we ever had!!!

It may be tasty but please give your recipe the benefit of the doubt. The name of the dish would be enough for diners to even consider trying. And the recipe does not spoecify which type or style of chorizo is called for in the recipe. Not all chorizo is created equal. oh, i guess that's where the garbage part comes in. My bad...

We used our griddle to cook this awesome dish which I believe made a difference, because it cooked everything evenly. Garbage Plate is an awesome meal for breakfast or dinner.

I did it a bit differently only because I prefer layers. I made my own chorizo and cooked it up the day before so it was ready to go. In an 8" oven proof skillet I cooked the hash browns with the onion and jalopeno peppers. I topped this with shredded pepperjack cheese and the chorizo and put in the oven to keep warm. Then I cooked 2 eggs overeasy and put them on top and then added a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar. I left it in the oven for 3 minutes to melt the cheese and ate it right out of the pan! Awesome
