It is a good, simple recipe. I like the fact that you can add just about anything to this base and create your own version. It's not hard to overlook any mistakes in the amount of potatoes, just use your common sense and adjust the ingredients accordingly. Recipes are only guides and obviously are not going to please every palate. Personally, I like the way it tastes, even without the relish.

Someone is trying to give potato salad a bad name. The proportions are absurd. Can you imagine the size of the bowl you would need to crumble or mash 10 pounds of potatoes. Can you imagine the size of the pot you need to boil 10 pounds of potatoes?Even if you should correct the obvious mistake you still would have a very pedestrian potato salad.

But when I make mine I do put salt and pepper and a spicy dijon mustard, just a little. I have to have onions in mine, too. I also put sliced eggs and paprika on top and sometimes when I'm wanting just a little something different, I dice cucumber and put it in. It gives a new little crunch and coolness and is very refreshing on a hot summers day.

I was born and raised in Taylor. Louie Mueller's is great food, and they definitely know what they are doing, so please quit with the ridiculous comments.

Though I never add salt to my potato salad, I make it all of the time for large family parties and to have a good creamy salad with 10 pounds of potatoes you need at least a whole jar of mayo. Of course all tastes are different but I would definitely add a little green onion to the mix and some pepper.
I prefer sweet relish but dill is not terrible.

You should probably go eat at Louie Mueller's first before you dog out this recipe. It is meant to compliment the meat that is served there. And it does, perfectly. If your making this recipe, ensure the meat you are serving is WELL seasoned, mainly with black pepper. Do that, and you will enjoy this fine side dish.

i am sorry..but seriously?! NO SALT? no herbs? this is weird. even old fashioned potatoe sald isint that simple. you need onions, more mayo, i added green and red bell peppers, paprika, mustard, fresh parsley,SALT,pepper, garlic powder, and sooo much more! i was shocked. when i made this, it was soo..plain! to make it actually edible, i put much much more mayo. and besides, no salt? thats just wack.
love and always,
laila.

You need a lot more of everything in the recipe if you're trying to flavor 10 pounds of potatoes. Looks to me like they scaled everything but the potatoes for home cooks.
