This is an easy one to follow and make. I amped my version up with some medium heat peppers. That made it a winner at my churches chili cook-off last year. I am repeating it again this year and will see if I bring home the hardware!!

I followed this recipe accept for replacing the Turkey with Carne Asada. It did not even resemble chili in taste. I thought it tasted like a bad red sauce.

I really like this chili...I do not like the "5 alarm" type, way too hot, so this was just what I was looking for. I did use diced tomatoes and added a little more chili powder along with a bit of hot sauce. My husband really loved it too...we served it with corn muffins. Good food on a cold winter night here in the Chicago area!!
