Was at Joe's about a month ago and the gizzards were nothing but over cooked batter tasting like very old fryer greese, the only thing worse was the service. Never to return!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decided to detour to Joe's when taking our youngest to begin her college career at MSU in East Lansing. BIG WASTE OF TIME AND GASOLINE!!!! We decided to try Guy's batter-dipped burger, etc., and I suppose the only thing that can honestly be said is "TERRIBLE!" The batter is so heavy and thick that no other flavors can be discerned. Now, I'm a true child of the South; that means I do like my fried foods! But this? This is slathered in stucco!

We've been to Joe's Gizzard city as well. There's nothing in their batter mix that stands out as exceptional, but when it's used to cover gizzards and burgers, the flavors meld with the other ingredients - and it's fantastic! It's one of the best burgers I've EVER had. This is the only fried anything that tastes even better the next day (if there's leftovers!. Drake's coating/batter mix is similar to Joe's and you can season it however you wish.

I work in a great breakfast and lunch cafe in Cathedral City CA and told my boss today about seeing this episode, so she had the cook make a turkey burger, double cheese, onion, tomato and bun dipped in pancake batter deep fried sandwich. OMG! It was insanely fabulous!!! She's now going to put ANY deep fried sandwich on "special" on Mondays. We pretty much figured ANYTHING cooked deep fried in batter is good! Thanks for the inspiration. GUY you ROCK!!!!!
