Nice, but not as good as the South African version., which has finely chopped dill cucumbers added to it and a tea spoon of condensed milk. Yummy!!!!!!!!!

Just like my mother's here in Arkansas. I like to add green olives for a kick!

This is my Mom's tater salad-we're from southern Indiana, on the banks of the Ohio river. Nothing else compares to Mom's!!!

Also easy for me to rate this recipe...I have been making it for 45 years as well! Slightly different...I add celery and Hellmans instead of Miracle Whip..although when I was younger I used to swear it had to be made with Miracle Whip. Sprinkle paprika on top...make sure it chills in fridge so make early in day. Yum!

This is a decent potato salad, but to make it delicious add dill relish (or minced dill pickles, diced cucumber, diced celery, and diced tomato. Top with paprika and a few Spanish olives ... Yum!!

Very good potato salad. I like a touch of apple cider vinegar in mine. A lot people think mashed potatos are terrible, I prefer mashed potatos with some choped celery, onions and shaved carrots.

Just like my mom used to make it....I'm glad this recipe is living on still in the mid-west!!!!
I do like to "play" with the recipe by adding chopped eggs and/or celery.
A must do for great potato salad is have warm potatoes when mixing the mayo, onion and mustard in.

Very ordinary. There is nothing special about this potato salad or the triple XXX restaurant that makes it.

Actually Don, Miracle whip and Hellman's/Best Foods are two entirely different things. Miracle Whip Salad dressing is the exact same product every where in the US. Hellman's and Best Foods Mayo is one in the same and is a mayo. Miracle Whip Salad Dressing is mayo with additions, such as extra vinegar, pepper's etc. I lived 27 years in the Midwest and learned how to cook, if some asks for Miracle Whip and you give them Mayo, you will hear because they are note the same thing. This is a very traditional Indiana recipe and is the one everyone first learns for every Sunday dinner, potluck, etc. Triple XXX is one of the best for a true sampling of Indiana (I lived within walking distance for 6 years. A great recipe. One of the very few potato salad's I actually eat.
