I used the Neelys' pork rub and BBQ sauce, so this was more of a cooking method than a recipe. I cooked chunks of onion in the broth and then discarded them instead of thinly slicing them and leaving them in. The pork absolutely disintegrated, which is what you want for pulled pork. Incidentally, I didn't care for the Neelys' sauce.

Oooh, what BBQ flavor, and texture to die for. My family was very impressed with the recipe, as was I. Thank you, Mr. Levine! :

While slow cooker meals can never compare to true bbq, this is a great way to make pulled pork that is tasty and far less labor-intensive. It took under 5 minutes to prepare everything, and the meat was literally falling apart when I took it out. Very tender! I didn't have Robert's seasoning, so I used the Oklahoma Joe's pork rub recipe I keep on hand, and it was quite good. I probably used double the amount of seasoning, and I'm glad I did -- you lose a lot in the water. Overall great recipe, and one that I will surely make often.

This pulled pork was awesome. It was very tasty, even before I added the BBQ sauce. I will definitely make this again.

This had to be the best pulled pork I've every made. I followed the other commenter's advice and used the BBQ sauce. They were even better the next day for leftovers!

I followed the recipe exactly except I used a store bought pork rub. I used a lot of rub but i think next time I would try even more for more flavor. I used the Neely's BBQ sauce for the first time and really liked that too. I LOVE the beer idea and I will try that next time. The pork was tender and delicious. I used seeded hamburger buns and toasted them but I think next time I will try a crunchier roll, maybe a dutch crunch??? The buns got soggy and were kind of boring. I made Bobby Flay's coleslaw to top them off and served with sweet potato fries. YUM!

I get pulled pork that everyone likes and some want the recipe. I could not find the seasoning anywhere SO I use the rub from the tailgaters recipe. I don't have a smoker, so using the crockpot is great for me.

I made this with a beef roast I happened to have on hand. I cooked it overnight and then served it as a brunch dish. We all loved it, but I was never able to find about 2 of the cloves... ?
