My mom used to make what she called "Easter Breakfast" or Jumbot in Italian. She made it like a frittata and used pepperoni, asparagus and artichokes. My brothers used ham but like the lady says you can put whatever you like in it. I can't wait to try this and to catch the "Triple D" show I somehow missed. Next time I am in Pittsburgh, PA I will have to stop and check this place out. Steelers in 2010!!!

Several years ago when I lived in the area, I ate breakfast at the Dor Stop every Saturday. Jumbot is an awesome, you-only-have-to-eat-one-meal-today breakfast! I'm so happy to find the recipe...I only wish I'd seen the broadcast - Vickie and her family are wonderful and make breakfast at the Dor Stop an experience, not just a meal.

To me this recipe was relatively easy and faster than the recipe said because I had some sausage left over from dinner the night before. After I made it at home I went to the restaurant and it was excellent but a little different. I'm guessing a different brand of sausage more than anything.
If you like this and you're from Pittsburgh you will also like the Mixed Grill at the Gab'n'Eat in Heidelburg / Carnegie.
