My wife said that this was the best barbecue chicken she had ever eaten. I agree...this recipe is definitely a keeper. Other than adding 1/2 TBSP Garlic Powder and 1/2 TBSP Liquid Smoke to the BBQ sauce, I followed this recipe exactly...except I only made 1 chicken instead of 2. I will use this BBQ sauce for everything now...no more bottles for us. It's tangy and sweet with a kick from the pepper, really just a perfect sauce. I can't wait to try it on ribs, and I can't wait to make this chicken again!

OMG. You will think: "Why am I going to all this trouble...marinade, rub, etc..." Just do it. Then taste it. This is the best bbq sauce I've ever tasted. The kids and me were wrestling for the last pieces. (They won. This converted me: we're major food snobs, but now we are Neelys fans. This is the real deal.

I made this on Christmas and it was a hit! I cooked it in the oven and it took a little longer than the recipe stated, but worth the extra wait.

Thank you for this great recipe! I made over 65 POUNDS of this chicken for our high school football team dinner the night before a game. I made it with bone in drums, thighs and also some boneless/skinless *****. It got lots compliments and lots of guys came back for 2nd's, 3rd's and even 4th's! Another team Mom at the dinner took some home for her husband. Her husband made a point of finding my husband at the football game to tell him it was some of the best chicken he had ever had! My husband was so proud ; Thanks again for the great recipe! (Yes, we won the game... by 72 points!

Can't go wrong with this chicken. I've made this chicken a few times already. The last time I made it the day after making your sweet cola ribs. I used the bbq sauce I had left over from the ribs for the chicken. It turned out to be a nice spin on it...Mmmm Mmmm Good!
