I don't like baked beans, my mom used to make them all the time with homemade bread after we came home from skiing and I ended up making myself a sandwich. However I am now making these for the third time. My brother, who doesn't cook but loves to eat is coming for dinner tonight and he's going to devour these.

I'm rating this 5 stars because the first time I made these they were a HUGE hit! They tasted excellent and everyone loved them!
However, this last time I made them they didn't turn out so well. I'm wondering if I used the wrong molasses it was called blackstrap molasses, and the beans turned out really dark looking and seemed to have a strange taste. Weird, I must have done something wrong, because they were amazing the first time!

These beans are the greatest! I bring them to every get-together and always come home with an empty pot. I sure wish we had a Memphis neely's BBQ here in ourcity! Thanks Pat & Gina!

These are the best baked beans ever!! I cooked them for a Labor Day get together & everyone loved them! The only thing I changed about the recipe was the meat. I used bacon instead of what the recipe called for. Delicious!!

Made these for a big family BBQ and everyone loved them. Worth the effort and the extra BBQ sauce went on the ribs that I also made. Only suggestion would be to double the recipe because they scraped the pot clean.

I am expected to make these beans whenever we cook out with our neighbors! I use the extra bbq spice mix for everything! We have even used it for a rub on london broil

Everyone loved these. Used bacon instead of beef or pork. Cooked up half dozen slices chopped bacon and then used some of the drippings instead of oil to cook the onions and peppers. On my menu for upcoming 4th of July bash.
