Bit of too much vinegar but fine with pulled pork.

nice flavor, but I did modify it. I reduced the sugars because it was too sweet for my taste. I substituted red wine for the water, and garlic powder for the onion. My version was 5 star!

Like some other folks, I found this sauce to be good, but lacking something. I replaced the ketchup with a mild salsa and the water with beer. And most importantly, I added cumin - 1 or 2 teaspoons of it. I don't think you can call it BBQ sauce without cumin.

I can't believe people apparently like this. It is so one note and cloyingly sweet. Ketchup and sugar..that's all you taste. This is not BBQ sauce.

I doctored it up just a little, and added 1/4 tsp. garlic powder and 1 tsp. molasses as per my son's suggestion. I let it simmer for about 2 hours. Marinated the chicken breast and chicken thigh with bottled Italian dressing for about an hour; then basted the BBQ sauce last 10 minutes of grilling. Sauce was perfect and we will no longer buy bottled anymore--yum!!

Made this for the first time with chicken. My family loved the taste! Super easy to make and left overs can be canned. Will be a stable in my house.

Yummy , This is my go to BBQ sauce . I usually make a more vinegar type of sauce until I found this one . Make my pork shoulder , pull it and then add 2 to 3 tablespoon of this sauce . Layer in a pan , drop in a 325 oven for about 4 minutes . Oh yeah talk about good eats , serve anyway you like just jar up the sauce and have it ready to be poured on the pork. Way to Neely's another home run . Oh by the way the longer you cook the deeper the flavor . I cook mine on low for about 2.5 hours before jarring it.

Excellent! After reading other reviews I decided to use the Heinz Chili Sauce, spicy ketchup instead of regular ketchup. It added a kick while taking out some of the vinegar twang and sugary sweetness.
