I added a tablespoon of Dijon mustard in addition to everything in the recipe. It helped warm it up. If you want a more mellow sauce, cut back on the fresh ground pepper. Overall it's a great sauce and I only simmered it for about 1/2 an hour. I used it on homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza. Outstanding!

This barbecue sauce was wonderful. I made it just as the recipe stated, but doubled it. It really does have to cook for a long time for everything to "come together". I also recommend whisking it periodically as my ketchup tried to clump up a bit. After a while it thickened up beautifully and the taste was great.

When you get a signature recipe from a good cook, they always leave something out so yours never tastes like theirs. I think it happened with this recipe. As it should. The sauce was thicker than the sauce at their establishment and it seemed like a lower level of vinegar was used in the sauce. It was good, but it wasn't great.

We enjoyed the sauce, but the second time we made it, I customized it to our tastes. I dropped the granulated sugar and added 1 additional tablespoon of brown sugar. Then I added 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon (or to taste Liquid smoke, hichory flavor. For the kick in the pants we enjoy, I added 1 canned chipotle pepper with some adobo sauce. I removed the seeds and minced the pepper before adding. If you're daring, add 2! Thanks Neelys for another great recipe!

The ingredients were easy to put together and it taste great w/pork baby back ribs; however, I didn't like the taste of the sauce that much. I've had better, however, it wasn't that bad.

I had my very first apartment warming party. I used this recipe and everyone loved it! I also doubled the recipe and it turned out well. I still have some stored in the frig. The recipe was so good that I had to write a review! This is a simple and easy recipe that tastes great.
