I love a good sweet barbeque and this one perfect for a smoky pulled pork shoulder and the like. However, I added some Basil Hayden's bourbon, that I reduce for about 5 min before adding to the sauce. It adds a wonderful bourbon flavor and really livens up the other flavors already present in the sauce.

We love, love, love this recipe in our house. Used it with pulled pork and it was perfect. I wouldn't recommend changing it at all, unless maybe a little less pepper for those who do not like a spicey bbq sauce. Gonna use it on wings for the big game tomorrow, cant wait. YUM!

Great tasting but a little to sweet for me. Next time I'll reduce the white sugar to 4 tbs. I thought about adding liquid smoke thinking it might help to cut the sweetness a bit but I was out of that.

Made this tonight when we realized we didn't have enough bottled sauce for BBQ chicken on the grill. I halved the recipe (only had that much ketchup, added 3/4 cup of Jack Daniels and a splash of water, omitted the lemon juice, and added some minced garlic. I thought I ruined it at first, but as it reduced, it developed such a sweet, wonderful flavor. We all loved it, even my picky 4 year old asked for seconds. Can't wait to try it on some pulled pork!

YUM. YUM. YUM. No effort, just time and it is totally worth it. This is the sauce that makes your mouth go, "WHOA!!!!". I use it on my pulled pork and my children go nuts for it. Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Neely!!!

I've been meaning to write a review on this BBQ sauce since this summer, but I can see by other reviews that people have tried it and loved it as much as me. I've made this sauce now 3 or 4 times, and put it in squirt bottles that are labeled homemade. I don't think I would ever go back to store bought. This is so easy, made with simple ingredients, and tastes great. Try this recipe now, you won't be disappointed.
