This is so good!!! I also reduced the amount of sugar. I used half mustard/half Dijon mustard. Tasted great!!! I will be making this again.

This recipe is perfection! I have made this for at least 10 bbq get togethers and it is the first thing to go! I prefer it a little less sweet and cut the sugar to 1/4 cup as others have recommended and the dressing is just right. Best slaw ever!

Delish!! I only used about 3/4 cup of sugar, but I didn't even really need that much. I used the pre-made cole slaw bags instead of making the slaw from scratch. It only took about 15 minutes to make. I will definitely make this again!!!

Great basic recipe. I added apple and reduced the amount of sugar to a tablespoon. Used lemon juice and white wine vinegar for acid and hot sauce in place of cayenne. This recipe can easily be varied according to personal taste.

Great recipe! I used canola oil instead of mayo so as not to worry as much about refrigeration. Also cut down the sugar to about 3/4 cup - still plenty sweet for me. I used stone ground mustard and it was yummy. I was able to find pre-shredded carrot and cabbage which made this come together in 5 minutes flat! Will make again and again! Thank you, Neely family!

I really do not like cole slaw at all, but its my husband's favorite summer side dish, so I tried this recipe for him the other night. I tried it as well. It was good, I will do it again, but I will cut back on the cayenne pepper, I halfed it to begin with, so I guess next time it will just be a pinch. I also used the bagged slaw and it was enjoyable.

Very good coleslaw receipe, yet I used only 4 teaspoons of sugar. I will do it again for sure.

This spicy coleslaw is my favorite recipe for the salad! You can control the amount of heat by adjusting the Cayenne Pepper, but start with the original recipe to see if you want it hotter or just cut the Cayenne in half to begin with. I also add one crisy apple diced and sharp cheddar cheese diced up to add to the flavor. Some petite frozen peas would also be great in it.

    Yummy!

I never really take the time to review recipes. Just wanted to say that I wouldn't make coleslaw any other way.

1 Cup of Sugar seems a bit excessive. I made this dish with 3/4 cup of sugar probably about 1-2 tbs of honey and it was VERY SWEET. Still delicious, though. My whole family enjoyed it and finished the batch. I added about 1/8 cup of chopped peanuts for some added texture and it was a nice surprise that everyone enjoyed. The kick of the cayenne does offset the sweetness a bit, but I definitely recommend starting at 1/2 cup of sugar and tasting before you add more (depending on personal preference, of course. If you're into a very sweet coleslaw, by all means, add it all!!
