Very good coleslaw receipe, yet I used only 4 teaspoons of sugar. I will do it again for sure.

This spicy coleslaw is my favorite recipe for the salad! You can control the amount of heat by adjusting the Cayenne Pepper, but start with the original recipe to see if you want it hotter or just cut the Cayenne in half to begin with. I also add one crisy apple diced and sharp cheddar cheese diced up to add to the flavor. Some petite frozen peas would also be great in it.

    Yummy!

I never really take the time to review recipes. Just wanted to say that I wouldn't make coleslaw any other way.

1 Cup of Sugar seems a bit excessive. I made this dish with 3/4 cup of sugar probably about 1-2 tbs of honey and it was VERY SWEET. Still delicious, though. My whole family enjoyed it and finished the batch. I added about 1/8 cup of chopped peanuts for some added texture and it was a nice surprise that everyone enjoyed. The kick of the cayenne does offset the sweetness a bit, but I definitely recommend starting at 1/2 cup of sugar and tasting before you add more (depending on personal preference, of course. If you're into a very sweet coleslaw, by all means, add it all!!

Great recipe will make again, like others I did about a 1/3 of a cup of sugar and that was good enough for my family, it was simply wonderful:-

Absolutely best recipe and I've even seen coleslaw haters gobble it down. I don't adjust the sugar and think its fine.

Nice recipe. Not as heavy as traditional mayonaise coleslaws. But not as tart as a pickled slaw - which I like, but not all the time.
    Will make this again...and again...

Made this the other day and it was delicious. 1/4 cup was sugar was enough!! I can't imagine eating this with a full cup of sugar, and i love sweet! Glad I read other reviews before I made this. I also don't care for yellow mustard so I used honey mustard instead and it came out perfect!! Going into the recipe box for the future.

I have made this recipe several times now decreasing the amount of sugar each time. 1/8 cup is by far the best I have made. A little less mayo and a little more mustard gives an extra kick. GREAT COLESLAW!! Amazing on Fish Tacos.

Rave reviews from all who have tried my take - about 1/2 to 2/3 amount of sugar, similar to other reviewers
