I made this for a party and it was a huge hit. I followed many of the suggestions from previous reviews: decreased the cayenne pepper by half (and it was still plenty spicy, used dijon mustard and used a bit less than a 1/4 c., cut the sugar to 1/3 c. and that was sweet enough. I also doubled the vinegar. Will make it again.

This is a very good recipe, tasting like honey mustard, even though I used yellow! I did cut the sugar in half, and I'm glad I did, or else this would be dessert instead of salad! I also cut the cayenne in half, as I was making this for a potluck.

Very tasty! I increased the vinegar and cut the sugar way down or it would have been way too sweet. I had to question if 1 cup of sugar was a misprint. I would have given it 5 stars except for the qty. of sugar. Reminded me of a honey mustard dressing that we get at a local restaurant. I would definitely make it again. Served it with pulled beef brisket and baked beans. A big hit!

Made this coleslaw for our annual 4th of July party and it was a huge hit. Substituted the cider vinegar for white wine vinegar and used dijon mustard. . . . . YUMMY!

We made this last summer. It is a great salad. Even my sister-in-law who does not like spicy food loved this salad.

Absolutely FABULOUS! Who would've thought that you could put mustard into a coleslaw dressing?! The flavor is yummy right now after just putting it together, so I can only imagine that it will be 100x better tomorrow for our family BBQ on the 4th of July. I only added 1/2 cup sugar and I am so glad I did what the other reviewers said because I think the full cup would be too sweet. I was also nervous about the onion in the salad, however it adds a nice flavor. I have a sneaky suspicion that this may become a highly requested recipe from my family once they put this flavorful salad into their mouths. Well done Neely's, well done!

Love this recipe!!! I read the reviews, and only put 1/4 cup of sugar. It would've been MUCH to sweet with 1 cup!! I used honey musterd also!!! Hope that helps!!

Too much mustard! I cut it with a half cup of sour cream and another tsp of vinegar. Still too sweet so, next time a little less sugar.
Anyway, Neely's you are the best! I just didn't care for this one.

Delicious. Makes a LOT. If there are only 2 or 3 of you consider halving.
