Awesome coleslaw. I do cut the sugar in half. And many times I used the precut coleslaws. Everyone loves it when ever I bring it to an outing and I don't want to share the recipe. One of my favorite ways to serve it is on a flat bread rolled up with buffalo chicken. So good.

This slaw was not only delicious, it was so pretty. Now I hate it when people review a recipe, then go on to say they changed this and that, and actually didn't make the same recipe! However, I did make some changes that made it better for us. We used a bag of cole slaw mix with extra carrots in it instead of chopping the cabbage and carrots. We grated about 1/3 of a medium onion. We cut the sugar to 1/4 cups and found that to be plenty. The cayenne was pretty pronounced (delicious, but pretty hot, so me might cut that back next time. We added at the end 1/2 t salt and no extra pepper. This will definitely be my slaw from now on. Very very good!

AWESOME!! I took everyones advise and only used 1/2cup of sugar. I also used brocoli slaw instead and fed it to my hubby & his brother w/o telling them. They LOVED IT! When i told them it was almost all brocoli they made me pull the bag out the trash to show them. Lol, great great great! Even better the next day. Might cut back on the spice next time... it was almost too hot for me, but this is the only slaw i will ever make!

Recently made this and it was a HUGE hit! I meant to cut the sugar in half after reading the reviews because of the sugar but I forgot. So instead I just doubled everything else and used enough dressing to wet the coleslaw but not soak it. I let it chill in the refrigerator for six hours. Easy as can be. Will definitely do it again.

I made this recipe for a party and one gentleman made the comment how he loved his mamma's coleslaw and thought that was the best coleslaw until he had this recipe!

This is sooo yummy! I will never make that old kind of coleslaw again! Awesome paired with pulled pork sandwiches. I just bought bags of the premixed cabbage instead of a fresh head. The sweetness and tangy-ness were a perfect pair. Perfect!

Sorry but this was so sweet I almost threw it all away. I made just half a batch to test it and was ready to toss it but added cider vinegar equal to the amount of sugar so as not to waste the batch. This made it acceptable. I even went back and checked the recipe to see if I had misread the sugar amount. Just not my taste at all.
