I loved these as well as the black bean burgers, and have made both using different varieties of beans. Like another reviewer of the black bean burgers, I use two spatulas to turn these (one on top one underneath. Slowly and carefully turn them and they should hold together. Flavor was great, though I did add two tablespoons of pureed onion, as well as a couple of tablespoons of worcestershire sauce. In general, I find recipes to be guidelines. I try them unchanged first, then decide if I would like the recipe better with some changes. Thank you Sandra for a great recipe--something I have made my own!!

Oh Sandra, what were you thinking? Fell apart, flavor was a bummer. Maybe it would have been better cooked on a charcoal grill rather than the indoor grill?

Very tasty! i also use this recipe to make vegi taco meat as well. follow the burger recipe and add a sachet of taco seasoning. Pan fry until it browns a bit more.

These were very good and easy to make. I did not have a problem with them being crumbly. I sauted one medium onion in a little canola oil and added them to the mixture - that was based on personal preference. Also after I formed the patties I did put them in the fridge to "firm" up before grilling - but basically because I made them earlier in the day - so maybe that helped not make them so crumbly.
Served with Salsa and some homemade pesto.

I added one half teaspoon of garlic powder and one haf teaspon onion powder. I added teaspoon of dried rosemary, thyme, basil. I ran the food processor longer than the recipe said. I cooked the burger on the stove top in a fry pan on medium heat for five minutes each side and the burger stayed together I also roasted the walnuts before adding to the food processor. Lots of layers of flavor.

I'm not a fan of walnuts so I changed the recipe to Pecan Burgers and it was amazing!! Even my husband loves them and he's a HUGE fan of red meat and wouldn't even THINK of eliminating meat from a burger! The red pepper flakes add a nice zing and the texture is very palate pleasing. However, I can't imagine grilling them. I sprayed a pan with Pam and browned them on both sides...very tastey!

This recipe was quick and easy to make. It also tasted better than I thought it would. The real clincher for me was my sister, the pickiest person when it comes to trying recipes from food network shows, really liked it.
It's difficult and boring during Lent for Catholics to eat meatless meals on Fridays that feel like you haven't eaten them over and over again so this recipe was great to try.

Probably won't ever make it again... it didn't taste terrible or anything but I kinda felt like I was just eating mush

I made a double recipe and made them a bit thicker, and used an indoor stovetop grill. I think the key to a non-crumbly burger is processing the mixture until it resembles ground meat. Any larger and I imagine they would fall apart
