Go to Costco. Grab some of those choice tenderloin steaks in the bulk pack.
    Follow this recipe.
The fancy steakhouses could not be any better than these steaks. No need to embellish. Now I ALWAYS dry any steaks with paper towels and let them sit out in the air for about 30 minutes before grilling.
This is a special birthday dinner or special occasion dinner, and it even works well on cheaper cuts of steak. Violet - Rocklin, California

I made six 1 1/2 inch steaks on Christmas day with the salt method. I used 1 1/2 teaspoons of Kosher salt on each side of each steak, and left the salt on for 45 minutes. It has to be course salt, so you want Kosher or Sea Salt. It cannot be table salt. ( It depends how thick the steak as to how long you leave the salt on then I rinsed the salt off very good and dried the steaks very, very, good. That is important. You don't need any oil when you grill them. Grill to your likeness. They will have a nice charred crust on the outside. I used butter mixed with a little gorgonzola cheese, I put about a tablespoon of that on the steak as soon as I took them off of the grill. Don't salt the steak when done, but they will not be salty. You can't go to any restaurant and get a better steak. I used New York Strip steak from Costco. My company raved, and raved. I don't want to go out for steaks anymore. I served them with Wild Rice Mushroom soup, and a big regular baked potato. I'm sick of the double stuffed and just wanted a good baked potato, and a very good tossed salad. Christmas cookies for dessert. I will try this recipe and know sit will be terrific.
