I loved these. I found out 5 mins b4 dinner that my husband ate all the garlic knots the night b4, so I sprung into action like a frenzied Iron Chef and threw these together. It was almost laughable but the results were seriously good. I didn't even have time to take out the elec. mixer, and my butter was cold right out of fridge, so I nuked it 1 min on "defrost" and some butter even melted. I continued onward, mixing the butter and sour cream with a whisk. I did the best I could to blend. I then added the flour and mixed that in by hand. Everything done by the seat of my pants, and they turned out exactly as I hoped, like the biscuits you get when you buy takeout fried chicken. The middle comes out moist. Baking in the muffin tin, they brown all around the sides and bottom and pop right out of the pan intact without crumbling. I might use buttermilk or yogurt if in a pinch. These are foolproof.

I did substitute butter, (since I have been watching food network I have not bought margerine.
I thought the ratio of fat to flour was too high but I made them.
I baked them 15 miniutes. They did not rise at all but I noticed Trisha's did not really either... They sounded like they were sizzleing in the pan when I took them out of the oven. The tops were browned and good but each muffin's inside looks like it was soaked in melted butter. I ate one, they are good but they don't need any additional butter that's for sure. I don't think this recipe is a keeper. I have however adapted making my bisqiuk drop bisciuts in a muffin pan after I saw this episode the first time, They come out moist and delicious instread of dry acrumbly when baked on a cookie sheet.
Love the show and all new ideas are good.

I just took my muffins out of the oven and they are perfect. Light and a bit crisp on the edges. Excellent with butter and jam. They are simple and the best biscuit. Quite honestly, I don't think it fair that a previous poster gave this recipe a One star rating when she changed 2 of the 3 ingredients. If you're going to rate a recipe please prepare it AS WRITTEN and then rate it, otherwise you haven't made the posted recipe at all.

EASY, EASY, EASY!!!!
To lisalamoureux; perhaps your problem was that you did not use self-rising flour. Please give it another try. I do use butter, and it is so good. but it MUST be self-rising flour.

Don't substitue butter for margarine! I used butter and all purpose flour and it didn't cook at all. Maybe you have to use margarine to make it rise, but I only buy butter. I should have read the recipe more carefully.

These was so easy to make and Delicious! They melt in your mouth. My other family that don't like biscuits or rolls liked them as well. I have made these twice and would't change a thing.

These are the easiest and tastiest biscuits I have ever made! We don't eat a lot of bread, but when we do, this is the recipe I always reach for! I have used both regular and fat free sour cream and I can't tell the difference in taste. I also use light butter to make the recipe a little healthier. You can't go wrong making these as a side to compliment any meal!
