This is the best Moussaka, I have ever tasted. Light, low cal. and easy to make. I was raised on the really fating stuff, this is just as good! It is good hot, and even room temp.I like it with mushrooms and black olives sometimes in stead of the meats, so good!

I followed all of the instructions except for the adding the cinnamon and nutmeg...which might take away the authenticity of this dish...but it came out great! I also did not have the yogurt on hand so I substututed sour cream and added a little more milk. Will make again for sure!

Very easy to make, but could do with some 'additives' like red wine plus herbs/seasoning to give it a bit of a boost

Excellent! Suggest using real Greek yoghurt, very lean ground beef (eggplant and potatoes soak up a lot of oil. Good with a crisp, Pinot Grigio.

Made it pretty like the recipe read. Only thing is I thought it needed a bit more character. I made again and salted the Eggplant and Potatoe with Adobo before frying. Then also added 1 teaspoon dried crushed mint leaves to the sauce. Turned out even better. Next time also I will make more of the yogurt mixture than called for and divide among sections instead and on top.
Very tasty dish and tastes great reheated too. My three little ones even enjoyed it. Next time I want to try the one on here by Emeril to see how it turns out too.

As others have commented, a bit labor intensive, but very good!
I substituted ground lamb, strained the yogurt thru cheese cloth for a thicker consistency, and added oregano to the other seasonings. I also used a pre-shredded 6 Italian cheese combo package.
My husband who claims he doesn't like eggplant requested it be put on the keeper list!

This was a little work, but well worth it. I substituted the yougart with non-fat and used 1% milk with butter instead of the cream, and it was still good.

This moussaka recipe turned out excellent!!! But the recipe is convoluted, it was like making a puzzle - you know all the pieces are there but you're left to make sense of it all. But after reading the recipe half a dozen times it was wonderful!!!
