The upshot of this recipe is that it's very easy and quick. But I didn't think it was all that special... Then again, I left out the orange liqueur. Maybe next time.

I had never used magoes before, what a treat! I had to ask if they were ripe or not from the produce manager. He assured me they were and they were.
I did not have Orange liqueur for the sauce, nor would I even buy Liqueur, so I went on line and got a good subsitute for this ingredient. I used 2 Tablespoons of orange juice and 1/2 teaspoon orange extract. I did not use the mint leaves either. None of my guests had ever eaten mangoes, so this dessert was a great treat for everyone.

I made this simple dish while at my boyfriend's parents' house. Everyone loved it and could care less if the cake was store bought or not. The sauce was delicious and just the right amount of sweetness. And please don't leave a review if you don't actually make the recipe. It's disrespectful to the creator and deceptive to people looking for recipes based on the number of stars it has. Please be considerate to everyone else taking advantage of this amazing site.

I admire Ellie and expected better than store bought from her. Leave store bought to Sandra Lee and the other one.

This recipe was so easy and delicious! I only had one mango, so pureed that and served it with some sliced strawberries. Beautiful! The orange liquer is a must! Tried this out on my family, but will definitely serve this for guests soon!

I made this tonight for my boyfriend and it was a total hit! I used Champagne mangoes that were very ripe and on sale at the grocery store. My boyfriend informed me that this will become his requested birthday cake!

My whole family loved this! Its is incredibly easy and from this learned to love mangoes! I made the sauce earlier in the day and then served it at dinner. This is an easy, light dessert that everyone will love! Just be sure to make extra sauce!
