    I made it today for my Birthday Party, it turned out nice. I don't use canned food, so I roasted peppers myself, I am sure it tasted even better. Thanks so much for such a nice party idea!

    I thought this recipe was RIGHT ON!!! It had great taste and was simple to make. I did make one change however. I premade the skewers minus the sausage. I cooked the sausage in the skillet and transported it in some foil. When I got to the party I heated the sausage back up in the oven for about 10 minutes. I cut the sausages and added them to the skewers. It was perfect.

    I definitely recommend this recipe!!!

    I served this antipasto during a wine tasting party. They're really easy to make and to assemble. My guests not only raved about the presentation but the combination of flavors. I had to repeat the ingredients several times for those who asked for the recipe. I used sweet Italian sausage, but omitted it for my vegetarian friends. Despite not having the flavor of the sausage, the vegetarians enjoyed the combination of fresh flavors from the veggies. I will definitely keep this recipe in my list of party foods.

    I made these last night for my husbands party tonight...you know, trying to get ahead = They turned out wonderfully!! I must say, that I forgot to brown the sausage first, I simply boiled it and sliced it, but I can only imagine what kind of flavor that would have added! I also omitted the roasted red pepper, as my mother-in-law does not care for them ;- All in all I know this is going to make a wonderful appetizer for my party tonight! The colors are wonderful and it is a very impressive antipasto!

    I have now made this twice and both times everything was eaten up. No leftovers! Boo for me.

    This was so easy and my guests loved them! Cooked spicy Italian sausages on the grill ahead of time and let cool. Sliced and reheated as directed. Didn't use artichokes (hubby hates them but sauasage, roasted red peppers, sharp provolone and basil leaf was enough. Served with Grey Poupon mustard. Will definitely serve again!

    I made this for a party and it was a very big hit! Even guest who didn't care for Artichokes couldn't believe how good this was. And I would also say to use the "Chicken-Apple Sausage" because the flavor of the apple along with the rest makes it a taste you just can't get enough of! Another plus is that you can make this one hours ahead and just place in the fridge...bring out and place in a chafing dish and dish will warm the sausage and not wilt the basil or just put the platter right out of the fridge and people still scaf them down!

    I made these for a cocktail party and they were a hit and easy to prepare. A few hours before my party, I cut the sausage before I browned it and didn't experience any curling issues. Then I put the sausage in my chafing dish to keep it warm. I assembled the rest of the skewer so when guests wanted one, they could just skewer a piece of the warm chicken sausage. I will definitely make these again.

    Thank you everyone who took the time to offer your reviews of this recipe. Your thoughtful comments were the reason I selected this recipe over others and I was not disappointed.

    I made a couple changes to the recipe out of necessity. First, I used toothpicks instead of skewers, and scaled down the size of each ingredient accordingly so that it could be consumed in a single bite. Second, I placed the basil between the tomato and red pepper. This slight change made it both aesthetically pleasing and also made it easier to eat.

    Therefore, I wholeheartedly recommend following this recipe as written and it is sure not to disappoint.

    Ellie Krieger once again makes a hit. I used Aidell's Chicken and Apple sausage and did not have the curling issue as others did. The chicken did not give off fat to make the skin curl. Aidell's has so many variations to choose from.
    This was so simple to put together and everyone like them.
