I recently had heart surgery and have had to change my diet even more than I already had changed it. I made this with ground turkey, omitted the salt, and used low sodium black beans. My mother and I both loved this meal, it was easy and didn't take much to fill us up. The only other thing I changed was the cayenne pepper to cumin cause I am a whimp when it comes to spicy foods. Thank you for providing a recipe that was low fat, low cholesterol, and low sodium.

This was very surprisely good. My picky eater son, 6yo, ate it up. And my 3 yr old had a few bites too. I made it with ground turkey, extra lean. Next time I will make it will the beef. The tomatoe dressing is what makes this dish for sure!

This was great! I used ground turkey instead of beef, and I omitted the cayenne, since I'm a wuss with hot stuff. I loved the dressing, and it was a great, healthy lunch for me:

This was awesome! The Black Beans with the Beef was a great way to increase the protein, cutting fat and calories but no sacrificing any flavor! The Dressing is amazing!!! Could not believe how simple it was to make. So easy and so much flavor, the Lime Juice really adds wonderful freshness & brightness to the whole salad. Really did not expect my whole family to like this so much! We did add a little corn to the tomatoes and avocado on top. YUM!!! Definitely making this again and again!

Just made this taco salad tonight and it tasted very good. We love the addition of the black beans to the meat. Very tasty and so much more healthful than reg taco salad eaten out somewhere. My husband added some picante sauce to his but I thought it was perfect.

We scarfed this down the first time and make it often now. Even my 16 month old likes to eat it. The dressing is really fresh and light. I like to add avocados on top.

I made this for dinner a couple of nights ago and it turned out fantastic. I really like the addition of the black beans as it adds another layer of depth to the flavors. This is a keeper!!
