Never made the shrimp, but you might say I'm addicted to the dressing. For a while I was going through a head of Romane every few days.

I had never used anchovie paste before and decided to go for it... however I found that all I could think about was the fishy essence to the not-so-ceasar dressing. I made it for my husband and I, and even my husband who did not know the ingredients that had gone into it (hence, was not focusing on the anchovie paste did not like it. We ended up throwing it out. I still love Ellie, however I'll be sticking to my Newman's Own salad dressings!

The dressing tasted so good - just like restaurant caesar which really surprised me. My shrimp was ok, I think I'll use chicken next time.

We are Caesar salad aficionados and major foodies. That being said, this was going to be a tough one. But, we've had it two nights in a row. Once with the shrimp, and tonight...alone....as a salad without even the croutons....and...LOVE IT! Trick is...use a blender...immersion or just a regular one. This is the key to getting the consistency perfect. Really good...but, we do love anchovies!

The dressing was light and very tasty. Easy and so much better than bottled dressing.

I made a few changes to the recipe--I left out the egg substitute and didn't put in the full amount of anchovey paste and I added a few roasted red peppers. But it was still wonderful! It had a great garlicky flavor! I have made several of Ellie's recipes and they have all been delicious. I love the way she makes things healthier but doesn't compromise the taste. It makes eating healthy much easier!

I did not make the shrimp as I was serving the Caesar salad as a side with another meal. The preparation was a breeze -- I whirred it all (except cheese up in a mini food processor. Toss the cheese in when you dress the lettuce.
This is restaurant, made-at-your-table quality dressing. Everyone LOVED it!
