These little cupcakes were a party favorite...even with entirely whole wheat flour. The lemon zest in the cream cheese frosting adds a surprising tang. I will definitely be making them again. Soon!

Perfect recipe. I cup cake will keep your tummy full all the way to lunch time.

The lemon zest in the icing complements the carrot cake exquisitely.

I made these cupcakes this evening and they are delicious! They taste just as good as those loaded with fat. I got 12 cupcakes out of the recipe so each one was only 196 calories....even less the guilt! Highly recommend these tasty jewels and Ellie's program which I consider one of the best on the Food Network.

I made these over the holiday weekend and they were so yummy and refreshing and only 236 calories! I love the show and wish it was on more days than just 1 day per week. Love Ellie's approach to life and food and look forward to her show each week. Keep Ellie on the air!!! What a bonus for Food Network and its viewers.

I made them for a memorial day picnic and they were loved by everyone. Just be careful not to overbake. I didn't have regular applesauce, so I used a peach flavored applesauce. I will be making these again. Love the show.

I didn't even make the frosting and still everyone loved them! They are not as sweet as your mouth will expect, if you are expecting carrot cake, but they are still a yummy treat. Moist and fabulous! Full of flavor. I gave two to a work friend who is dieting and she couldn't believe the taste and only 236 calories. Even less than 236, since I didn't do the icing! I plan to make them again and again. I may add raisons next time, maybe about a 1/4 cup.

I love this show. Please keep her on. What a refreshing concept. Food that is delicious, good for you and easy to make! Hosted by a very pleasant, likable and "down to earth", beautiful, healthly person. Excellent concept. I wish she were on at a time I could see her more. I only get to see the show on weekends since I work during the day.

    Thanks, Food Network.

I love this recipe. I used splenda brown sugar substitute as I cannot eat sugar. It is delicious!
