This is very good! I didn't have dried cherries and didn't miss them. This kept me full all morning, when normally I get hungry mid-morning.

We often have oatmeal at least once a week. While I had been doing raisins or dried apples in it with some brown sugar, it gets old and the husband adds loads of brown sugar.
This is a great way to brighten the flavor and you don't need much for sweetener. In fact, I do a little less of the cherry preserves because it is quite sweet with the dried cherries. We add a little milk when serving.
Tasty for even a picky husband.

This wasn't quite creamy enough for me. Next time, I'll cook it in milk. I used golden apple raisins and homemade strawberry-rhubarb jam.

This was deliious! I'm not a fan of dried cherries, they are a tad sour for me so I added just a tiny bit of Spenda Brown Sugar to balance out the tartness. Thanks for the great recipe.

My fabulous trainer told me this one years ago. STILL using this recipe. Delish - and totally filling. HEALTHY. No extra sugar needed from jams.

Bless her heart, Ellie did it again! I don't normally eat oatmeal because of the texture but I saw this recipe in my inbox and had to try it (that healthy eating thing, you know and I loved it...loved the texture, the flavors, yum cherries...loved how quickly it came together. I work 3rd shift so anything that is easy AND tasty wins. Definitely a keeper in my recipe box!

I work full time, and I am always looking for healthy breakfast options that are quick and easy. This takes hardly any time at all. I can make it at night and refrigerate for the next morning. No more scrambling around when I'm running out the door.
I'm excited to try this with other fruit variations.

I make this oatmeal at least once a week (eat half of it that morning, and put the rest in the fridge for the next morning. It is absolutely perfect! I work and am still able to put this together very quickly in the morning. Use the quick cooking oats, and it just takes minutes! The texture of the dried cherries is fantastic. I have found that I like it best with raspberry jam, but any combo of jam/dried fruit is wonderful!
