I thought the salsa was very good. However, the steak had no flavor for me or my husband. I'll keep the salsa recipe but toss the steak.

This is one of my all time favorite recipes. To me, the best part was the salsa. It was so flavorful and mouthwatering, and at the same time extremely refreshing. It looked beautiful too - the stark contrast between the rich purple slivers of onion and the jade green veggies was so unusual and stunning. The salsa was a great accompaniment to the steak tacos. I used flour instead of corn tortillas since they were what I had on hand, and it was delicious.

One of our go to meals. My family doesn't like Avacados so I use a pineapple salsa and works perfect. Love this.

I followed the recipe for the steak with the exception of using garlic salt in place of the fresh garlic and salt. I made a spicy cabbage slaw using some mayo, fresh lime juice, cilantro, and chopped serrano pepper in place of the plain cabbage. I also made some guac using the avacado, lime juice, cilantro, chopped red onion, chopped fresh tomato, and chopped serrano pepper. The combination of the slaw, guac, and steak was wonderful. My husband didn't initially like the taste of the steak. But next thing I knew he was getting a 2nd taco. My steak was tender and very flavorful. I did let it sit at room temp. for about 30 minutes with the spice rub then also let it rest for 10 minutes after it broiled (5 mins per side. Sliced it thin and against the grain.

We have made this several times and every time it's great. For those that had tough steak, it may have been sliced wrong. also, make sure you let it rest before you serve it. i add a bit extra garlic and in the salsa i add two tomatoes and I use one habanero instead of the suggested chile's but i like it spicy and salt and pepper to taste! yummy, yummy in our tummies!!

I have been making this dish since I saw it on Healthy Appetite and love it! It is a different way to make steak tacos and the red cabbage and avacado slaw give it such a different taste.

Thank you Ellie! I miss your show!!! I'm hoping to see you back on food Network as I love the healthier versions of your dishes as well as your nutritional knowledge

The steak was very rare, and I guess we didn't carve it thinly enough, because it was tough to bite through. We let it sit in the refrigerator with the rub for a few hours, but it still didn't provide much flavor. I didn't like the cabbage, and though the salsa was good, the cucumbers didn't do much. I do appreciate the healthy approach, but this recipe is not a keeper.

I used a 1 inch boneless rib eye that was on sale at our local market let my meat come up to room temp and rubbed it while i was prepping everything else used a little extra salt & pepper i used Kosher salt. Grilled it 5 to six min on each side it was wonderfull & tender..The avacado lime salsa very good!!! I made homemade low carb Margaritas !!!! It was simple and fun. I will use this alot !!!

Really a delicious recipe. The first time I made it, my boyfriend kept repeating that he couldn't believe that it was cinnamon on the steaks! It's definitely better if you do the rub and then let it marinate on the steaks for a few hours. Also, while this guac recipe is good, the one from Rosa Mexicano is hands down my favorite guac recipe - really simple and really easy.
