The salad dressing is very good and flavorful. I made this even more simple by using a broccoli slaw mix from the vegetable department. I saved a lot of time and didn't have any waste! Loved the almonds as well. Nice, refreshing summer salad.

I loved this. I felt so good after eating it. Not only was it tasty, all the colors are so festive. I was happy to finally use that can of mandarin oranges that I didn't know what to do with. Thanks.

Thank you Ellie Krieger for creating another incredibly awesome recipe! The dressing is absolutely fantastic with the crispy cabbage. It all takes some work, but it is totally worth it!!!! I will absolutely make it again!

Thought this was a good weeknight supper. I added sugar snap peas, and added romaine and used less cabbage. I think it would be a great SIDE with just the cabbage and no chicken. But, as an entree, I preferred less cabbage. I used a regular orange instead of mandarin ones, since I happened to already have one. Good dish.

I've made this salad several times and absolutely love it because it's delisious and healthy/low fat. The only changes I mad was a fresh orange instead of the canned mandarin oranges and omitted the water chestnuts (not a huge fan. I like the idea of adding edamame like one reviewer did.
The dressing is sooooooo good, probably one of my favorites, EVER. Seriously, it's that good. Just the right mixture of sweet, sour and spicy and the garlic and ginger give it tons of flavor.
Some people complained about not like raw cabbage but the recipe calls for Napa cabbage which almost has a lettuce-like texture, so I don't see why that would matter. I've actually made it with regular green cabbage too and if you let it sit for a few hours with dressing on it, it'll soften up. Yum.

My five star rating is all about the dressing. It is so versatile and I have thrown it on a lot of salads including an Asian inspired pasta salad with rice noodles. It also makes a great marinade and is an amazing dipping sauce for Vietnamese Spring Rolls. The secret is the sesame seed oil. If there's one ingredient not to skimp on, it is the oil. Cha-Cha-Chinese Chicken dressing by Soy Vay used to be my go-to Asian dressing, but not any more. Thanks Elie!

This salad has authentic asian flavor and is very healthy. I wouldn't serve this as a main course since it is so light and not very filling, but it makes a satisfying lunch salad with plenty of flavor! Next time I will add more almonds.
